If a stranger on Chat BI asks you for money, treat it as a scam until proven otherwise. In practice, it is almost never proven otherwise.
Common scripts
- “I need gift cards to verify you are real”
- “Send crypto and I will send it back”
- “I am stuck / hospital / travel emergency — just a small transfer”
- “I will pay you later if you help me now”
- Romance-style flattery that quickly turns into a payment request
None of these belong in a random anonymous chat.
The only safe response
- Do not send money, codes, or screenshots of wallets
- Do not move the chat to another app “to get paid”
- End the conversation
- Block and report as spam/scam
Why “but they seemed nice” does not matter
Scammers practice sounding nice. Anonymous chat gives them a fresh audience every few seconds. Your kindness is not a debt you owe a stranger with a payment link.
