Private rooms are for people who already know who they want to talk to. Instead of waiting in the stranger lobby, you share a short code and meet in the same room.
When to use a private room
Use a private room when:
- You want to continue a conversation with someone specific
- You are coordinating with a friend across devices
- You prefer invite-only access instead of random matching
Use Connect when you want to meet someone new.
How codes work
- Open Private room.
- Create a room to generate a 6-character invite code, or enter a code you received.
- Share the code only with the person you intend to meet.
- Once both of you are in the room, chat with text and start voice or video when you want.
Codes are short on purpose so they are easy to type. Treat them like temporary door keys: do not post them publicly if you want the room to stay private.
What private does — and does not — mean
“Private” means the room is invite-based rather than randomly matched. It does not mean Chat BI can guarantee the other person’s identity, age, or intentions. The same safety rules apply:
- Do not share personal or financial details
- Leave if someone pressures you
- Use report/block if the product surfaces those controls in your session
Chat BI is still 18+ only in private rooms.
Practical tips
- Agree on the code over a channel you already trust (a message to a friend, not a public comment).
- If the wrong person joins, leave and create a new room with a fresh code.
- Prefer text first if you are unsure the other side is who you expect.
